Earth Day Community Clean Up

Mossbank School students and staff celebrated Earth Day with a Community Clean Up.  Mrs. Lawrence and the SRC spruced up Silzer Park behind the school to make it more inviting for students to spend time in.   Everyone enjoyed being able to be outside in the lovely, warm afternoon weather.  Thank you to the SCC for helping organize this event and supplying the treats at the end of the afternoon.

Report Card Survey

Hi Parents,

I have been notified from PSSD that they would like your feedback on information that appears on report cards (all levels).  They are determining what changes to report cards are needed, and parent/community input in this regard is important as they are the primary consumers of report card data. You may click on the following link to access the survey.   Please note that this survey is limited to one response for every IP addresshttps://www.surveymonkey.com/s/reportcardfeedback

You may also wish to respond by clicking on documents, information for parents and 4 Report Card Survey.  Once you print the form and fill it in, the form can then be scanned and emailed to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it  (9th Avenue Office) by the end of May, when the survey closes.   You may also bring it in to the school, and we will forward it.

If you have any questions, let me know.

Book Fair Luau

The book fair is coming Next week!!  This will be your opportunity to come and check out some great books and support our local school library and classrooms!  There are lots of books for all ages and some great Easter books.  So start thinking of birthdays, Easter gifts, etc... There will be classroom wish lists so you can support our students and teachers in their learning and you can also give teachers a gift card to use.  Wouldn’t that be a great way to show your support of our teachers!  You can donate books to the library or the classrooms, or just a financial donation would be awesome!!  This week we did some book talks with most of the students about some of the books that will be at the fair, they did a great job acting out the little plays!

For anybody who dresses in a Hawaiian theme any day during the week will be entered in for some daily prizes!

Our hours for the book fair are as follows:

Mon 26 – Wed. 28th 9am-4pm

Thurs. 29th 9am-9pm  Open during Student Led conferences

Fri 30th 9am-12pm Open during Student Led Conferences

Don’t forget to come and enter your name for a chance of winning $25 of free books for you AND $25 of books for the classroom of your choice!

Rick Hansen Relay

rick hansen 2 rick hansen

Congratulations to Jacob who had the honour of running in the Rick Hansen Relay in Moose Jaw on Thurs., Feb. 9th. The Relay is a Cross Canada tour where runners apply to run legs of the relay with Rick Hansen's special tour medal all across the country. Jacob applied back in May and found out just the day before the run that he had been selected to participate in the relay. He ran 250 metres, with the medal aorund his neck, after taking the hand-off from the runner before him. They ran up 9th Ave West in Moose Jaw towards the Honda dealership, as Honda is one of hte sponsors of the event. This was a huge honour for Jacob and an awesome experience.

Book Fair

The Scholastics Book Fair is coming to Mossbank March 26-30th this year.  For those of you unfamiliar with book fairs; there will be some great deals on a lot of Scholastics books during this week and there are always lots of other cool items to purchase.  Our book fair goal is $1700; if we can sell this much in sales we will receive 50% of that back in free books for the library which would be an incredible benefit to not only the library, but to the teachers and students as well!  The next few weeks watch for posters and other promotions detailing the many books that will be up for sale.  One winning family will receive $25 in free books for themselves and then their child’s teacher will also receive $25 in books from the Fair!  There will be books for all ages, from preschool all the way to adult so come check them out!
