In October, the Caronport Elementary School Grade 6 class was given the opportunity to participate in a contest. Every entry would mean that $5 would be donated to Habitat for Humanity projects in Canada. Students were to write a poem or essay 50 to 100 words in length. Of the more than 5000 entries, one of our students, Payton R, had her poem chosen as a runner-up. For herself, she will receive an iPod. For her classroom, she will host a pizza party. And she has directed $5000 from Genworth Canada for Moose Jaw’s Habitat for Humanity project. Thank you to all the Grade 6 students who entered the contest, and CONGRATULATIONS to Payton R!
