Schools in motion is an interagency project among Health, Education and Community based organizations. The purpose of the project is to guide and act as a resource and information source for the youth and service providers within the region in attaining 30 minutes of moderate to vigorous activity per day. The 30 minutes of heart-pumping activity are to be done as a part of the school program outside of Phys Ed class. Some activities that might accomplish this include:

  • energizer or brain breaks done as a whole class
  • whole school assembly activities, or km challenges
  • special activity presentation delivery (e.g.: tennis clinic delivered to all grades) for some this would replace their PE class for the day, for others it would be in addition to PE minutes.
