All contests must come to an end, and this is no exception!
Most tried our best, some more than others, and few seemed to get a dumb-struck look at you when you even mention a book.
With the Gold - Mrs. Bell - As well as winning, they get a trophy, even though it is not made of gold, it is edible. They won PIZZA for the whole class.
With Silver - Mrs. Pavier - 1.6 % behind, they must have been tearing their hair out at the thought of being so close.
With Bronze - Mrs. Blatz
3 didn't rank - Mrs. Frostad, Mr. Brownell, and Mrs. Hodgeson.
The title for the new A.R. season, the wacky saying is 'Surprisingly Unexpected'.
Induvidual winners are: Jackson - Portable DVD Player, Justin W. and Brandon S. - Each got a I-Pod Shuffle, Elissa - MP3 Player, Faith - Camera, Aly - Twilight Journals, Tanya - Olympic T-Shirt, Josh B. - K'NEX, Chase,Dustin M. and Justin R. - Olympic Hats. |

Everyone remembers that horrible, freezing day when all the teachers sheparded all those poor kids outside to freeze while the 'torch' passed by. Ok, I might be exaggerating, but if only it was like the weather on the real torch run day. Our students showed pride when carrying the torch. 4 were chosen to participate in the torch as everyonemight remember. They were Kristen, Tyrone, Brendon and Sara. |

Some people have been hoping to read books to compete in the A.R (Accelerated Reader) contest, while other have just been staring at the books with grim looks. Class progress toward group goals are:
so far, with a whoppin' 50 % is Blatz class!
than with 46 % is the lovable Brownell's class.
with 39% is the also lovable Bell's class.
Pavier's class is next-to-last with 32 %.
And at dead-last is the more-lovable-than-Brownell-and-Bell-combined is Mrs. Hodgson at 25%, 1/2 of Mrs Blatz acheivement. |
