  • extra-curricular Curling and Basketball for Moose Jaw elementary students

Did you know that ALL grades 6-7-8's from the Moose Jaw based PSS 210 elementary schools (as well as Caronport Elementary and Cornerstone Christian School) are eligible to curl in the 3rd year of the PSS 210 Elementary Curling league??

That's right, every Wednesday from 4-5:15 PM starting December 12 until February 13 (except during the Christmas break) middle years' curlers will take over the Moose Jaw Ford Curling Centre at Mosaic Place and "throw rocks at houses" at the only place in town that you can!!

The program is free (paid for by PSS 210) and brooms/sliders are provided also, but students are asked to wear curling shoes or indoor shoes—as NO BOOTS OR OUTDOOR SHOES are allowed on the pebbled ice!! The last date, February 13, is a wrap up championship bonspiel, and students are actually out of school for the afternoon as the event runs from 1- 6 PM that day. So try curling, it's cool!! No really, it's cool, so wear a sweater or hoodie!!

Did you know that the above mentioned schools also spend time in December holding basketball tryouts for grades 6-7-8 students and selecting all of their teams (A1, A2, & B leagues are available for both boys & girls) and then "tip off" the season in January?? That's right, gymnasium courts become basketball stadiums throughout our city with games virtually every night at someone's gym--- so come on out and "take a shot" at the sport of basketball!!
