3. The Indoor Soccer League will continue on Monday as most players are gone to Hoopla. Monday's game will be the Warriors vs. United.

This course is designed as an orientation of various technology related fields and could help provide assistance with entrance into technology programs and would be useful towards applying for certain scholarships. Riverview has three spots reserved and one is already gone. If you are interested--see Mr. Morrison in Room 212. First come first served: however, priority will be given to Grade 12 students until Wednesday.

In Thursday's action, the Balla's kicked off their season with a thrilling 40-38 win over the Dunksmiths. Sara Klippenstein put the Balla's ahead with the game winning shot with only two seconds left. A reminder to all students watching the games that there is no food or drinks allowed in the gym.
5. Finally, this Sunday (Jan. 10th) the Riverview Senior Rock Band and Empire Drum Club will be performing at the Olympic Torch Ceremonies at the Armouries. The Senior Rock Band plays at 9:30am and the Empire Drum Club performs at 11:15am. Admission to the ceremonies is $5.00 and that includes a pancake breakfast so come out and support all the talented musicians in our schools.

Today four students from Riverview will be participating in the School City Wide 2010 Vancouver Olympic Torch Relay. These students will be passing Riverview with the Relay Entourage sometime in the morning. All Riverview staff and students will line Coteau Street as they pass. We will be given a 20min warning when they are approaching. At that time I will inform everyone over the intercom that it is time to get your jackets and make your way to the front of the school to cheer them on. Please be sure to wear warm clothes and footwear when you go outside. Classes will resume after the entourage has passed.

In playoff action last Thursday in the Noon Hour Floor Hockey League the Underdawgz defeated the Legends 7-2 to win their semi-final series 2-0. Jamie Copeman led the Dawgz with a hat trick. Quintin Bastien led the Underdawgz with five goals and Chappen Crier recorded the first shutout in the league this year. The regular season of the Noon Hour Floor Hockey League concluded yesterday with the Underdawgz edging out the Warriors 6 to 5. James Copeman led the Underdawgz with a four goal outing. The first round of playoffs start today at 12:15pm in the gym with the Legends playing the Underdawgz. On Wednesday, the Second Coming will play the Warriors in the other semi-final series. Semi-finals are best of three. Make sure to check the gym bulletin board for final standings and goal leaders.

The 2010 Vancouver Olympic Torch is coming through Moose Jaw on January 10th. The first event leading up to this is a BBQ in Wakamow valley on Thursday, Sept. 10th at 6:00pm. Meet local Olympians and Elite athletes and get a up close look at the Olympic Torch.

The Visual Art Club will start NEXT Wed. Sept. 16th at 3:15 in the art room. The club is for any and all students interested in Visual Arts.

Mr. Grass will be starting drum club NEXT Fri. Sept 18th. at 12:30 in the band room. If interested see Mr. Grass or just show up in the band room on Fri.

There will be an information session/presentation on the H1N1 Flu on Tues. Sept. 22nd at 9:00pm at the SIAST Palliser Campus. Anyone can attend.

Rock band today at lunch. Music Club (an extension of rock band) will be meeting Mondays after school in the band room. Please see Mr. Irving for details and to sign up. Our first practice will be Sept. 14th after school.
