Psychology is the study of the mind and how it works. Our goal is to determine what the young minds in our schools require when it comes to their learning, behavioral, emotional and social needs.

The most common service in this area is a psychological and educational assessment. Using their expert knowledge, our school psychologists are able to consult, interview and administer tests in order to provide a diagnosis and to generate solutions that are specific and measurable to the student.

In addition, school psychologists contribute to the learning process by:

• providing support for planning school programming;
• acting as a resource for training and other means of professional development for staff, parents and students;
• consulting with teachers, parents, administration, consultants and outside agencies and groups;
• enhancing awareness of the specific needs of students and determining how best to address those needs, and
• providing support to families and students in response to crisis situations.
