Occupational Therapy Print

Occupational therapy focuses on those students who are having difficulty fully accessing and progressing in the educational environment. An occupational therapist may assess the abilities and needs of a student including visual and motor skills, printing ability and pre-vocational skills.

Occupational therapists also contribute to the learning process by:

  • collaborating in program planning;
  • consulting on appropriate strategies and resources for the student;
  • supporting teachers in adapting the classroom environment or learning materials;
  • making recommendations for the use of technology and other equipment; and
  • providing training for teachers, educational assistants and parents.
