Rural Municipal Visit
Wednesday, 09 May 2012 18:10

On Wednesday, May 2 the Grade 4, 5 & 6 students went to the RM Office to talk to Mr. Sherven. We talked about rural municipalities as a local government. Mr. Sherven took the time to explain revenue, expenditures and the responsibilities of municipal government. A big thank you to Mr. Sherven for taking time to talk to us.

Grades one and two class enjoyed their trip to the

bank this week. They found a hidden jar with 300

dollars. There was a huge vault with two locks and

two hidden codes. They also enjoyed getting to

see the new 100 and 50 dollar bills. Everyone

thought they smelled like maple syrup.

Thank you Marie Selensky and Mrs. Deana Bell.

Eulogy for Yarpea (Fish from Grade 4/5/6 classroom)

That fish was so nice, he was the best fish in the tank. Yarpea was born to be a star. He sat in the bottom of the tank for a couple of days. Yarpea died because we didn’t feed him. Reagan brought the fish to school on September 23, 2011 and we named them all Yarpea. Yarpea and his friends played in the dirty tank. I am surprised the rest of the Yarpeas have not died. The first time we saw him dead was at the start of school at 10 minutes to 9 o’clock (that is 8:50)

The Grade 6 Science citizens of Mankota experienced an experiment about drag, thrust, and ease of turning of different sized wings. Sadly, we did not fly but someday we will. You’re awesome if you read this. Thank you, goodbye!

P.S. - Don’t try this at home!
