Students from John Chisholm enjoyed a fantastic day at Buffalo Pound ice fishing. The Classrooms on Ice program, sponsored by the Moose Jaw Wildlife Federation, has provided many years of excellent teaching opportunities and this year is no different. Students get to learn the fine art of ice fishing as well as the biology of many fish species and the ecology of their habitat. This year the John Chisholm students were joined by the Wildlife Management class from Riverview Collegiate. Their teacher, Kelly Grass, demonstrated the fine art of filleting the one fish that was caught during the whole day. Though the students were disappointed that more fish were not caught they were enthralled by Mr. Grass' expert techique -- and the discovery of a live crayfish in the stomach of the fish he was dissecting!!
