The Prairie South School Division was created in January 2006, as a result of the amalgamation of seven legacy school divisions. The division encompasses much of south-central Saskatchewan, stretching south to the U.S. border, north to Craik, west past Mankota and east to Rouleau, and anchored by the communities of Moose Jaw and Assiniboia. |

Our Name
Our name reflects our geography – a geography that illustrates just how diverse ‘The Prairies’ really are and how powerful that diversity can be.
We have rolling hills and vast, flat grasslands; picturesque freshwater lakes and large, saline bodies of water that are home to abundant populations of shorebirds and wildlife. As you cross the division, you’ll find sites with tremendous historic significance, alongside pockets of innovation and exploration that hold the key to the province’s future.
Amidst this diversity, the seeds of excellence are nurtured and brought to life.
Staff/Students
Our Students
As of Sept. 30, 2009, there were 6,848 students in Prairie South School Division. Kindergarten and Prekindergarten students are counted as one-half of a full-time student (since they attend only half-time); thus the full-time equivalent enrolment for the division – the amount the province previously used to calculate per-student funding – was 6,546 as of Sept. 30, 2009.
