Strategic Plan Print

Prairie South’s Strategic Plan is directed toward achieving the Board’s three identified goals:

  • Quality learning program
  • Effective and efficient use of resources
  • Viable and sustainable school division

The goals, in conjunction with the four priorities of the provincially legislated Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF), form the basis for a student-centered planning model that acknowledges the role everyone in a community plays in student learning.

The Planning Model

Stategic Planning ModelThe Board’s three goals are represented by the three overlapping circles in the centre of the diagram. While each goal is important in its own right, the model illustrates that they also work together, and in conjunction with the province’s CIF, to form a student-centred focus for the division’s work. Students are at the heart of our model, and student learning is at the centre of everything we do as a school division.

Home, school and community are included in the innermost of the three larger concentric rings. Each has a distinct, yet vital role to play in supporting student development. This includes parents, school, support and administrative staff, ratepayers and even businesses and organizations that may partner with schools in one capacity or another.

Governance – the outside ring – establishes the parameters in which the division operates. Communication’s placement in the middle ring signifies the importance the Board places on communicating with others in the system (Home, School and Community), and the sense that the best communication flows both ways – to and from the Board of Education.
