Schools

Prairie South has a total of 40 schools that encompass 19 rural and urban communities. Our student programs range from Prekindergarten to Grade 12. We have Early Learning Programs in two of our schools as well as an on-site daycare for children of students at one of our larger high schools.

Material Distribution Approval

We are approached by many organizations to distribute their material within our schools. In order to be distributed by the division, all outside materials must be approved by:

  1. Superintendent of School Operations, who will distribute to schools, staff, etc.
  2. Principals, who will decide if the material is appropriate for their school based on the following criteria:
  • The advertisement/announcement must be of educational benefit to students, support learning or student and staff wellness.
  • The information/opportunity must be within the Prairie South area or in a community that is viable for attendance by our students and staff.
  • The information must be respectful of all faiths, race and ethnic backgrounds.
  • The information must respect the FOI & Protections of Privacy Act.
  • Should not pose substantial financial costs to students.

Methods of Distribution:

  1. Division's internal courier (delivered to school sites).
  2. Electronic copies are sent principals to post on their school Bulletin Board or forward to appropriate staff members for distribution.

Note to staff:

  • If you receive information in the division mail, it has been approved.
  • If you receive information directly from organizations/businesses, please let Heather Boese know, as proper channels for approval have not been followed.
  • If you have concerns regarding material dropped off at your school please contact Barbara Compton or Heather Boese.
