Golfers Perform Well

The Section golf tournament took place on Sept. 10 at Craik.

Davis Langer, Dayton Fletcher, Carter Mackow, Blake Christmann and Parker Marzolf advanced to districts in the bantam boys category.  Emma Wist and Jordan McInnis advanced in the senior categories.

The Bantam districts was held at Coronach on Sept. 14.

The District playoff was held at Elbow on Sept. 15.

Central Butte School Ranks #2 in Province

The second annual AIMS (Atlantic Institute for Marking Studies based out of Halifax) report cards on Saskatchewan High Schools was released.  This year's rankings put Central Butte School at number 2 in the province!!!  The report is based on a number of performance factors.

9/10 Art

The 9/10's have been working extra hard on designing ceiling tiles for the senior English classroom.  The result is beautiful representations of significant pieces of literature.

Central Butte School

Supply lists   2012-2013

 

Please label all articles for identification (except pencils in K – 2)

·         For Kindergarten, grades one and two please send all supplies on the first day of school, as Mrs Kurz will store them in the cupboard until needed

 

Kindergarten

·         12 HB yellow pencils.  Please do not purchase pencils with special designs, etc as they do not sharpen well in school sharpeners.  Pencils do not need to be marked with their name.

·         2 packages of wax crayons (at least 12 crayons per package)

·         2 bottles of white glue

·         4 large glue sticks

·         1  30 cm ruler

·         1 pair of scissors (if your child is left handed, please purchase left-handed scissors)

·         3 erasers

·         1 container to hold crayons and glue – a box with a lid

·         1 book bag to carry books and worksheets home

·         1 paint shirt ( a big old t-shirt is fine)

·         1 change of clothes in a bag with your child’s name on it

·         1 deck of cards

·         1 box of Kleenex

 

Grade One and Two

·         Grade 1 – two notebooks (48 page Hilroy)  grade 2 – four notebooks (48  page Hilroy)

·          8 erasers

·         20 HB pencils  Please do not purchase pencils with special designs, etc as they do not sharpen well in school sharpeners  Pencils do not need to be marked with their name.

·         2 boxes waxed crayons

·         2 packages of pencil crayons – sharpened please

·         1 package of 8 Crayola markers

·         1 pair of scissors

·         1 pencil case

·         Book bag or backpack

·         1 three ring binder (1”)

·         2 bottles of white glue, 4 glue sticks

·         1  30cm wooden metric ruler

·         Paint shirt (an old t-shirt or shirt)

·         1 pair of white soled running shoes

·         Grade 1 a small hand held mirror

·         Deck of cards

·         Kleenex

 

 

 

Grade Three and Four

·         4    1”  Binders (3 Ring) and 2 packages of loose leaf

·         14 duo tangs

·         7 notebooks

·         3 erasable pens, pencils as needed, erasers as needed

·         1 large pencil case

·         3 large glue sticks and 1 bottle of white glue

·         1 package of markers, 1box of crayons, 1 package of pencil crayons

·         1 metric ruler (wooden or metal preferred)

·         1 pair of scissors

·         1 high lighter

·         Non marking runners for gym

·         Kleenex

 

Grade Five and Six

·         3  2” ring binders,    2 packages of dividers, 3 packages of loose leaf and reinforcements

·         2 exercise books

·          Pencils, glue sticks, glue bottle, erasers, pens (blue and red), 3 different colors of high lighters, and pencil case

·         Pencil crayons (sharpened), metric ruler, markers, scissors, and a good quality geometry set.

·         Calculator (scientific)  our suggestion is Sharp EL-510RB

·         2 boxes of Kleenex

·         Gym clothes, non-marking runners and non aerosol deodorant in a gym bag

 

Grades Seven to Twelve

·         Loose leaf paper

·         Pens, pencils and white erasers

·         Ruler

·         High lighters

·         White out

·         Reinforcements

·         Scientific Calculator (Sharp EL-510RB)

·         Binders will be needed for each class  ( a zippered one for ELA is a good idea)

·         Physical education outfit which consists of T-shirt, team shorts or sweats, socks, non marking court shoes.

·         For shop a student is advised to bring a paint shirt and a dust mask if needed.

Awards Presentation

The final awards will be presented on Thursday at 1:00 pm in the Auditorium.

Awards include spring sports, year end sports, drama, academic, volunteers and a year in review slide show.

The presentation is open to the public, make plans to join us.
