A bucket of pennies! Gr. 3-4 Winners Weighing every last penny! Students at Bengough School have depleted the penny supply at the local Credit Union! They had a penny challenge for one week to see which classroom could bring in the most pennies. The results: Kindergarten 11.6 pounds Grade 1-2 5.6 pounds Grade 3-4 23.6 pounds Grade 5-6 6.4 pounds Grade 7-8 28.8 pounds Grade 9-11 18.4 pounds Grade 10 49.8 pounds Grade 12 8.2 pounds The winning elementary classroom was the Grade 3-4 class and the winning high school classroom was the Grade 10 class. Each room won a basket of goodies to share. In total the students brought in 152.4 pounds of pennies which equals approximately $275.00. However, they are not done yet!! They still need to bring in pennies for the Penny Carnival on February 10. To play the games, they need to donate pennies – so keep collecting! All the money raised is going to the Bengough Elks SPARC fund. Pennies do count!
