Jar it 2

Jar It is the company name for our Junior Achievement portion of our Entrepreneurship class.
Our company goal is to create a product that our community will enjoy and will buy.
We formed Jar It, which is dry ingredients in a jar. The two different mixtures we offer are a double fudge brownie and a chocolate chip cookie mix.

The members of this class/company are: Jayde H., Britiney C., Mikaela P., Chantal K., Taylor S., and Hanna F.

Each member has been given a specific role. These roles include President (Chantal), Vice of productions (Mikaela), Vice of Marketing and Sales (Jayde), Vice of Finances (Britiney), Vice of Human Resources (Taylor), and Vice of Information Technology (Hanna). The advisor for our Entrepreneurship class is Mr. Dale Berglund.

We Are Silent

We Are Silent1

"Every day, millions of children around the world wake up to a life of bondage and harsh conditions."  Free the Children holds an annual event called "We Are Silent" to raise awareness and to raise funds for this cause.  This year Bengough School took a vow of silence to raise awareness.  Students watched a short video about Craig Kielburger and his reasons for bringing student labour to the world's attention.  It began with the story of a young boy, Iqbal Masih, who was forced to work countless hours weaving rugs rather than attending school.  We chose a small rug as our symbol so when the rug arrived in the classroom, it was those students' turn to be silent.  All students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 took part.  Before the rug left each classroom, those students brainstormed different reasons why it was important to take part in this day.  A little more awareness was raised today.
